HARAPAN SI ISTIMEWA

This April, inconjunction with Autism Awareness Month and the blessed Ramadhan, we aim to create awareness and celebrate the the individuals with Special Needs in Singapore, especially within our Malay Muslim community.

‘Harapan Si Istimewa’, or ‘Hopes of the (an individual with) Special Needs’ reflects the desires of our individuals, and even their Caregivers, to experience their growing journeys similar to those of typicals because they too wish to achieve the best to their abilities.

Your Assistance In This Cause Matters Too

This is Hidayah

Hidayah was diagnosed with Down Syndrome, which makes her bottom half weaker. This causes her to have troubles with simple balancing and limited resources to improve it, being a student under the Financial Assistance Scheme. Your financial contributions through our campaigns can help fund the intervention support needed for students like Hidayah to boost their physicality and ease their lives.

Zakat

In Islam, giving zakat is believed to grow the wealth of both the recipients and the givers. When you give zakat as a contribution to MIJ Hub, you are giving wealth in the form of education and training opportunities, and enhanced learning facilities to both students and teachers.

#MIJ Hub accepts Zakat on Wealth.

The Issues That We Faced

Unfortunately there is still lack of awareness towards individuals with Special Needs within the Malay-Muslim community in Singapore. This has caused these individuals to receive minimal support from people around them despite sharing the same faith and religion.

When less support is given:

  1. Our Muslim Caregivers of these individuals will not be able to seek help comfortably within our community.

  2. These caregiver will have to rely on other support groups of other races and religions who are unable to provide spiritual and faith support to the individuals.

How has MIJ Hub been assisting
our Malay-Muslim community?

1

MIJ Hub became one of the pioneer support providers for individuals with the Special Needs in the Malay-Muslim community in Singapore. This year is its 11th year serving the community.

2

MIJ Hub has included Islamic aspects in the lessons which were specially designed for individuals with Special Needs of different learning needs. This ensures that they are constantly kept close to the faith and religion of Islam.
